On specific input, the joint area domination party of Army & Police tried to stop one suspected vehicle, terrorists fired upon and in retaliation two terrorists were killed.

The terror suspects recieved weapons from Pakistan through the drop-dead method and were in touch with their handlers on the other side of the border through a social media app.

"Alert troops deployed on the border fence in Balakot detected and neutralised two terrorists so far. Area has been cordoned off and operations are in progress," the Army said.

Three terrorists were killed on Wednesday in a gunfight with the security forces in J&K's Jammu district.

Earlier on October 14, the NIA had conducted searches at multiple locations including the Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir in connection with a drone delivery case.

Confirming the development, the police said that an operation is currently underway in the district's Tangpawa area.

The Army established a quick initial cordon around the suspected cluster of houses in the village which was subsequently strengthened by additional troops.
