With the present senior officer bearers of the Medical Council recognizing the need to curtail quackery, this is for the first time in Telangana State that a concerted effort has been launched in collaboration with TS Drug Control Administration (TSDCA) to take legal action on individuals with no MBBS degree but practicing allopathy.
A total of 60 bottles of ‘Saheth Care Powder’ worth Rs. 16, 000 were seized during the TSDCA raids at the Hikma Sehat Care clinic while drugs worth Rs, 1, 02, 000 were seized from the quack’s facility that were stocked for sale.
The DG, TSDCA, V B Kamalasan Reddy said that the marketing company was clearly charging 94 percent excess of Rs. 17.57 for each capsule of the anti-fungal drug, which is a clear violation of Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013. The DCA team during the raids seized stock worth Rs. 6, 885.
