A 34-year-old bike mechanic has been arrested for allegedly raping and murdering a 21-year-old nurse in Thukkuguda. Police said technical evidence and clues from the crime scene helped crack the case within 30 hours. Further forensic investigation is underway.
The Telangana Nurses Association has demanded tighter security, safe accommodation and stronger workplace safeguards for nurses following the murder of 21-year-old nurse V.K. Sirisha in Tukkuguda. The association also sought DME-level monitoring and accountability mechanisms across teaching hospitals.
