Uber said the launch is in line with the company's recently announced global commitment to make all rides on its platform 100 per cent emission-free by 2040 through zero-emission vehicles.
The court affirmed an injunction that was issued on August 10, requiring the two companies to classify their drivers as employees rather than freelancers, The Verge reported on Thursday.
The Rider mobility team works on the challenge of enabling the next billion trips by building new services including high capacity vehicles (Uber bus), and car rentals, among others.
