A 55-year-old man died after reportedly suffering a heart attack while fleeing a police raid at a gambling point in Venkatapur, Rajanna-Sircilla. His family suspects foul play as valuables were missing and has demanded a full inquiry into the incident.
The case was registered after a complaint from Irrigation Department Assistant Executive Engineer A Paramesh, who alleged that the Anurag Group of Institutions, under the banner of Gayatri Educational Trust, was illegally constructing a college building within the buffer zone of Nadam Cheruvu
Mandamarri police said the victims were Masu Shivaiah (50), his wife Rajyalaxmi (45), daughter Mounika (22), granddaughters Himabindu (2) and Sweety and relative Shanigarapu Shanthaiah (55), all from Gudipelli Venkatapur village.
