The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested K Sujatha, a junior assistant at the Vikarabad Collector’s office, after she was caught accepting a bribe. The ACB registered a case following a complaint and conducted a trap operation that led to her arrest.
Former Kodangal MLA and BRS leader Patnam Narender Reddy, along with 24 farmers from Lagacherla village, who were arrested for the alleged attack on the Vikarabad Collector and other officials, were granted conditional bail by the Nampally Special Court on Wednesday.
The court, which had reserved its decision on November 20 following a petition by Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader Patnam Narender Reddy’s wife, delivered its verdict on Friday. Shurthi, the wife of the former MLA, had challenged the registration of three First Information Reports (FIRs) for the same incident. Justice K. Lakshman, after considering the arguments presented by Reddy’s counsel, decided to quash two of the FIRs.
People, who do not have land in Lagacharla, were roped in from other villages to create ruckus, he alleged, also accusing the prime suspect in the attack, Suresh, of being a rapist.
Tribal representatives, accompanied by MLC Satyavathi Rathore and senior BRS leaders, including RS Praveen, met the Commission Chairman in his chamber. They submitted a representation demanding action against the police personnel involved in the recent physical assault during the arrest of tribals in Lagacherla village.

After several hours of questioning at the Parigi police station, Narender Reddy was produced before court, where he was remanded in judicial custody for 14 days and then shifted to prison.
D Sridhar Babu on Tuesday alleged that the BRS was obstructing welfare and development programmes in the State and announced that a detailed enquiry would be conducted to expose the people behind the incident.
