Factionalism in Warangal Congress resurfaced after MLA Nayini Rajender Reddy complained to TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud against Forest Minister Konda Surekha for making unilateral decisions. The rift, simmering for months, has deepened with repeated clashes between the Konda family and local MLAs.
In the lead-up to local body elections, several Congress leaders from Warangal defected to the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), citing the Congress government's failure to meet electoral promises. The crossover occurred in the presence of former Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao.
The feud between Warangal Congress MLAs and Forest Minister Konda Surekha’s family has reached AICC incharge Meenakshi Natarajan, with several legislators alleging interference and misconduct. The issue is expected to be discussed in the TPCC meetings on June 24.
At an informal chat with mediapersons here on Friday, Konda Surekha charged that Kadiyam Srihari was unable to stomach her elevation to the post of Minister.
The exercise is turning particularly arduous as majority of constituencies boast more than two aspirants vying for a ticket, barring the exceptions of Mulugu and Bhupalpally constituencies.
