The Telangana Today–Namaste Telangana auto show concluded in Mahabubnagar on Sunday with a lucky draw that saw Rajendranagar resident Venkateswarlu win the visitors’ gift. The two-day event, held at the Boys Junior College grounds, attracted large crowds who explored a variety of car models from different manufacturers.
Mahabubnagar MLA Yennem Srinivas Reddy criticised the Congress government for mounting debts and lack of funds for local development works, saying MLAs cannot even sanction petty projects. Other Congress legislators have backed his demand for higher constituency allocations.
Jadcharla MLA J Anirudh Reddy claimed that if re-elected for two more terms, he could emerge as a Chief Minister candidate. He promised Rs 5,000 crore for constituency development and supported Rs 25 crore allocation for each MLA.
Munugode MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy supported Mahabubnagar legislator Yennem Srinivas Reddy’s demand for allocating Rs 25 crore annually to MLAs for constituency needs. He said most legislators shared the view that grassroots issues must get priority over big projects and welfare schemes.
