Spread over 380 acres, the Nehru Zoological Park was inaugurated in 1963 after relocating the erstwhile zoo enclosures from Public Gardens. Generally, zoo parks are established outside the city far from traffic and pollution.
Field officers have been instructed to collect the carcasses of birds detected during this period, pack them safely and send them to veterinary science laboratories for analysing and identifying cause of death
Following the pandemic, the footfall in Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad along with eight zoo parks and other forest parks in the State had reduced drastically.
