Hyderabad: Telangana Boggu Gani Karmika Sangam (TBGKS) on Thursday decided to go on strike from December 9 demanding the government to fulfill certain demands apart from requesting the Central government’ to withdraw four coal blocks in Singareni from auction.
The TBGKS affiliated to TRS served the strike notice as per Sub-Section (1) of Section 22 of Industrial Disputes Act-1947 to the SCCL management and submitted a copy to the SCCL Director (PA&W) and General Manager (Personnel) in Kothagudem and Regional Labour Commissioner (Central), Ministry of Labour and Employment here.
TBGKS general secretary Miryala Rajireddy took strong exception to withdrawal of four SCCL blocks – Kalyan Khani Block-6, Koyagudem Block-ll, Sathupalli Block-ll and Shravanapali in Singareni from auction by the Ministry of Coal.
Rajireddy demanded that the government enhance age from 35 years to 40 years for dependents of medically invalidated and deceased employees also, apart from correcting alias names of workmen, whose names are different in SCCL records and at their native place records along with their dependents’ names for providing dependent employment.
The meeting of Corporate Medical Boards was not conducted for last one year due to Covid-19. Owing to this, some dependents’ age crossed 35 years. For the last one year, the management was not providing dependent employment to medical unfit employees’ sons on the plea that their spouses are either working in the government or public sector undertaking though it was not mentioned in circular issued by the management.
