Tea vendor from Peddapalli gets five government jobs

Udan Shiva Mahesh, a tea vendor in Rajarampalli in Jagtial district, managed to secure five government jobs within a span of six months.

Peddapalli: A tea vendor from Dharmaram mandal, Udan Shiva Mahesh got five government jobs within a span of six months. He managed to get selected for General Junior College lecturer, DSC, Gurukulam JL, Post Graduate Teacher and Trainee Graduate Teacher. He is already working as a Hindi lecturer in Mamada Gurukulam school in Nirmal district.

Shiva Mahesh is the second of three children of Udan Laxman and Susheela, who operates a tea stall in Rajarampalli in Jagtial district. Natives of Dharmaram mandal headquarters, the couple migrated to Rajarampalli and opened a tea stall to run the family.


Shiva Mahesh, who completed his schooling in Dharmaram government high school, used to help parents in tea stall besides attending school. After completion of SSC, he pursued intermediate in Sadhana Junior college and Degree in Karimnagar. He completed his Master of Arts (Hindi) from Ambedkar University in the year 2020.

Shiva Mahesh, who got married to Sunitha in 2014, worked as a teacher in a private school to run the family. However, he lost job during Covid pandemic and faced severe financial problems. A helpless Shiva Mahesh opened a teal stall to feed wife and son.

When Gurukulam JL notification was issued in 2022, he decided to prepare for jobs by taking coaching. While he was about to withdraw his coaching proposal due to lack of money, one of his friends Eppala Mallesh came forward to provide financial assistance for coaching. He underwent 45 days coaching in Sai Hindi coaching center, Vizianagaram of Andhra Pradesh.

When he explained about his financial condition, coaching center authorities agreed to provide free coaching, Shiva Mahesh told the Telangana Today and thanked owner Nagesh for his help. After completion of coaching, he continued his preparation in Karimnagar district library by regularly eating the Rs 5 meals. Informing that he used to study 14 hours in a day, he said that sometimes, he used to study even after midnight.

Shiva Mahesh, who appeared for Gurukulam exams in August 2023, got fourth rank in JL (Hindi) and ninth rank in PGT and TGT. Besides state second rank in general JL, he secured district first rank in DSC results announced recently. Stating that he managed to secure all these jobs with the support of his family members, Shiva Mahesh said that it was possible to achieve goals with sincere hard work.
