Teacher encounters with leopard while on his way to school in Medak

Startled to see the leopard just a few meters away, the teacher halted his bike. The leopard remained calm and crossed the road without showing any aggression. Taking precautions, the teacher backed up a few meters and joined other commuters heading in the same direction. He later informed the villagers about the encounter once he reached the school.

Medak: A teacher, who was proceeding to school on his bike, found a leopard crossing the road near Gajireddipally village in Havelighanpur mandal on Friday morning.

Shocked upon seeing the leopard just a few metres away, the teacher stopped his bike. However, the leopard kept its calm and crossed the road. Though it showed no signs of aggressiveness, the teacher went back a few metres and joined other road users proceeding in the same direction as a measure of caution. He shared the news with the villagers after reaching the school.

The villagers then informed forest officials. Meanwhile, some villagers said that they also sighted leopards in and around their village multiple times. The village is located on the fringes of the Pocharam forest area.
