Hyderabad: Big builders and developers have a system in place to track the progress of a projects. However, monitoring the work on a daily basis is a difficult task for individuals giving their house construction to a contractor. To address this, Hyderabad-based Design & Construct, a construction solutions company, is using technology to allow virtual monitoring of the construction work via its app, said its co-founder Krishna Varun.
“We want to bring transparency in the project execution. Our effort is to deliver the completed projects within the timelines without any cost escalations. The construction costs agreed will be the same throughout the project,” said Varun.
The issue would be discussed only if building material prices increased was over 100 per cent of what was agreed within a short time, he said.
Borewell, power and the building permissions are provided by the clients. The prices range from Rs 1,499 to Rs 1,799 per sqft, varying with the choice of brands of the building materials. It has tied up with multiple suppliers for the building materials to ensure there is no shortage. Separate teams check the quality and quantity of the materials before getting them on to the site. “We have tied up with steel, cement and paint makers. These supplies are just a call away for us,” he said.
The company offers clients an e-tracking option that enables them to track the progress of the project without having to travel to the site. The site pictures are uploaded on the app. The company has 32 projects in Hyderabad, including ten in the planning phase. It also has done projects in Bengaluru, Mysore and Pune and has up plans to be present in more cities. It also is drawing up plans to be a B2B services provider shortly. Among others, it wants to undertake green building projects soon.
The milestone-based payments system allows clients to plan their cash-flows as per the project progress, Varun said.
