Teen drowns in Penganga while taking holy dip in it in Adilabad
A 14-year-old boy drowned in the Penganga river at Sangidi village in Bela mandal of Adilabad district on Friday while taking a dip as part of a family religious ritual. Police retrieved the body with the help of expert swimmers

Adilabad: In a tragic incident, a 14-year-old boy drowned in the Penganga river while bathing at Sangidi village in Bela mandal on Friday.
Police said Betham Sai Manideep from Bela met a watery grave while taking a dip in the river along with his grandfather as part of a family religious ritual.
His family members tried to rescue him, but in vain. He, along with his grandmother and relatives, was at the river to present Bonam to the river goddess at the time of the incident.
On receiving information, police rushed to the spot and retrieved the body by deploying expert swimmers.
