Jagtial: At least 250 e-motorcycles were gutted when a fire broke out in a godown that had stocks of the e-bikes in Metpalli road on the outskirts of Korutla town late on Sunday night. Local youth managed to bring out about 20 e-bikes before the fire engulfed the godown.
Though the exact reason for the fire is not known yet, short-circuit is suspected to have caused the fire. Noticing the flames billowing out of the godown, local youth swung into action and managed to save some bikes from the godown. They also alerted the fire service and police departments.
Fire tenders from Metpally rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire. It is learnt that Satish Reddy, a trader, had stored the e-bikes in the godown.
Police also rushed to the spot and began investigation after registering a case. Korutla SI Chirra Satish appreciated Wajid, Mohsin, Waseem, Naddu, Abid and Md Salauddin, the youngsters who managed to bring out some bikes.
