Khammam: Hundreds of Telangana activists under the aegis of the Telangana Udyamakarula Forum took to the streets here on Friday, protesting against the Congress government‘s failure to fulfil the promises made to them during the Assembly elections.
Speaking to the media, forum state convener Dr KV Krishna Rao, district president Pasupuleti Nasaraiah, leaders Arvapalli Vidyasagar and others said that the Congress, in its manifesto, had promised to give 250 yards of land, financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh for house construction, pension and health cards to Telangana activists.
But even after nearly two years, the government has failed to deliver on the promises. The sixth guarantee given by Sonia Gandhi should be implemented immediately. Otherwise, the Congress party would be taught a fitting lesson in the upcoming local elections, the activists warned.
