Telangana BIE seeks poll duty exemption for government junior college staff

In a letter to the State Election Commission, TG BIE Secretary Krishna Aditya makes an appeal to exempt staff from local bodies' election duties as they are involved in exam work

Hyderabad: The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TG BIE) urged the State Election Commission to exempt the government junior colleges and government sector junior colleges personnel from ensuing local bodies’ election duties.

In a letter to State Election Commissioner I Rani Kumudini, TG BIE Secretary S Krishna Aditya said the government and government sector junior colleges staff were involved in various capacities to discharge duties related to practical and theory examinations.

While practical exams were ongoing, theory examinations were scheduled to be held from March 3-25.

“During these tenures, the co-ordination, invigilation, supervision to the large extent in various fields stands high and services of government colleges personnel are more essential and valuable during the pre-planned exam schedules. I sincerely express that not to allot any duties and seeking exemption for the government junior colleges staff from duties pertinent to ensuing holding of elections to sarpanch, upa-sarpanch and ward members of gram panchayats in the district,” the TG BIE Secretary added.
