Hyderabad: Telangana Postal Circle has topped the country in Adhaar Enabled Payment system (AePS) with withdrawal of over Rs 66 crore of Rythu Bandhu benefits facilitated through Postal Micro ATMs between June 16 and June 23 to about 1.08 lakh farmers.
Among all the divisions in Telangana circle, Wanaparthy led the charts with 19,340 AePS transactions and withdrawals of over Rs 11.98 crore. Wanaparthy was followed by Khammam with 11,196 AePS transactions and withdrawals of over Rs 5.79 crore and Suryapet with 8,916 transactions and withdrawals of over Rs 6.71 crore.
In a statement issued here, the Assistant Director of Hyderabad region, said the department had rededicated itself to serving the farmers on the occasion of ‘Eruvaka Pournami’ on Thursday by facilitating withdrawal of Rythu Bandhu benefits to farmers in their fields.
For using Micro ATM, farmers can visit nearest Post Office with Aadhar card and mobile phone linked to any bank account, and withdraw cash of Rs 10,000 per day free of cost. This can be done by impressing finger print and informing the OTP received on the registered mobile number to the Post Master.
However, farmers have been advised to adhere to Covid-19 guidelines while taking cash at Postal Micro ATMs.
