Karimnagar: National Federation of State Co-operative Banks (NAFSCOB) Chairman Konduru Ravinder Rao on Monday said the State government has decided to administer Covid-19 vaccine to all the cooperative bank employees free of cost soon.
During a visit of Minister for Health Eatala Rajender to TSCAB office in Hyderabad recently, they had stressed upon the importance of providing the vaccine to the cooperative banks staff who are also frontline warriors and had been working braving all odds, he said and added that the Minister had readily agreed to the proposal and assured to provide vaccination free of cost to all the cooperative banks’ staff.
Participating at the International Women’s Day celebrations organised by NABARD at DCCB head office in Karimnagar town on Monday, NAFSCOB chairman said that the Karimnagar DCCB had won accolades for appointing more than 40 per cent of women in various sections including the branch managers. He said that majority of the bank branches in the district were totally manned by women employees.
Hailing the women employees for doing their job with responsibility and dedication, he said that the women staff also played a crucial role in the recovery of bank loans and emerged as pillars of the KDDCB and emerging as the number one cooperative bank in the country. The women employees have proved that they were second to none in discharging their duties.
Karimnagar DCCB CEO N Satyanarayana Rao called upon the women bank managers of various branches to encourage the womenfolk to take up small-scale industries and other self-employment activities for real economic empowerment.
Stating that currently the women SHGs were taking loans to the tune of Rs 10 lakh and he directed the women officers to encourage the women to take up entrepreneurship for achieve empowerment.
District Cooperative Officer Srimala said that the womenfolk of the sector have proved that they can discharge any duties with responsibility as was evident with the performance of the Karimnagar DCCB in the district. She said that the women were ready to take up any challenge and excel in the field. TSCAB Deputy General Manager and Nodal Officer Annapurna was also all praise for the women employees of the DCCB.
Presiding over the programme, NABARD DDM P Ananth urged upon the women bankers to encourage the traditional artisans such as handloom weavers, potters and other professional workers to turn into entrepreneurs in the wake of demand for their products on par with the Nirmal toys. Later, the DCCB chairman and NABARD DDM felicitated all the women employees with a memento.
