Telangana Congress accuses BRS of evading debate on Krishna waters
The Telangana Congress accused the Opposition BRS of boycotting the Assembly session to avoid scrutiny of its failures and irregularities. Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao alleged that BRS was unwilling to respond to questions on the allocation of Krishna river waters under the Palamuru-Rangareddy project.
Hyderabad: The Telangana Congress charged that Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) was boycotting the Assembly session fearing that their failures and irregularities would get exposed. The BRS members were enacting the “boycott drama”.
They cannot respond to the injustice done to Telangana in the allocation of River Krishna waters under the Palamuru-Rangareddy project, Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao said.
The government was prepared to explain before the people about the financial and other irregularities that took place during the execution of these projects. However, the BRS out of fear was trying to escape attendance at the discussion, he charged while addressing media persons on Friday.
Animal Husbandry Minister Vakiti Srihari, and MLAs Veerlapalli Shankar, Malreddy Rangareddy and others spoke. They charged that despite spending Rs. 27,000 crore on the Palamuru-Rangareddy project, the BRS government failed to provide water to even a single acre.
