Telangana culture, heritage discussed at Pallavi Group of Schools
The chief guest of the day was poet and lyricist Suddala Ashok Teja, the first recipient of the National Film Award for Best Lyrics from Telangana.

Akshara Vaagdevi International School in collaboration with Pallavi Educational Institutions celebrated Telangana Formation Day virtually. Students from classes V to X participated in the event.
The chief guest of the day was poet and lyricist Suddala Ashok Teja, the first recipient of the National Film Award for Best Lyrics from Telangana State for his song “Nennu Saitham” from the Telugu movie “Tagore”. The guest of honour was Surabhi Vani Devi, MLC and educationist.
Chairman of Pallavi Group of Schools Komaraiah, Principals of Pallavi Education Institutions also graced the occasion.
The event commenced with the lighting of a lamp and welcome dance by the students. Srilatha spoke on the statehood movement for Telangana and the cultural diversity and heritage of the State.
Addressing the gathering, Suddala Ashok Teja spoke about Telugu literature and the contribution of great poets and writers. He spoke about the importance of appreciating children.
Taking him as an example stating how his parents appreciated his first poem thus motivating him to continue writing. He also recited a few poems and sang songs he had penned for Telugu movies. He also announced the winners of the Telugu short story writing and poetry writing competitions while Komaraiah announced the winners for English short story writing and poetry writing.
Surabhi Vani Devi appreciated Sri Suddala Ashok Teja for his literary works. She also spoke about PV Narasimha Rao, her polyglot father, who despite being born in a remote village went on to become the Prime Minister of India, through sheer hard work and learning, and asked students to imbibe the qualities of such great scholars and leaders. Ms. Vani, then announced the winners of the essay writing competitions.
