Telangana DCA raids clinics of two quacks practicing allopathy without MBBS qualification

Hyderabad: The drug inspectors of Telangana State Drug Control Administration (TSDCA) raided the clinics of two quacks, who were practicing alopathy without valid MBBS qualification. The DCA teams raided the premises of Madoju Kanakachary, Nelamarri village, Suryapet district and seized 24 varieties of various kinds of drugs.
In another raid, the DCA teams seized 51 varieties of drugs that were stocked illegally for sale by a quack Mohd Rawoof at Kawadipally village, Abdullapurmet mandal, Rangareddy district. High end antibiotics, steroids, pain killers, anti0ulcer drugs, analgesics worth Rs 54, 880 were seized from the two quacks by TSDCA.
The Drugs Control Administration, Telangana, issues drug licenses for the stocking and selling of medicines in accordance with the provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act. Stocking drugs for sale without a drug license is punishable under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, with imprisonment for up to five years, DG, DCA, V B Kamalsan Reddy said.
