Telangana DGP warns spurious seed and pesticide suppliers of strict action under PD Act
He stated that the State government is committed to cracking down on the sale of counterfeit seeds and fake pesticides. Police raids in Vikarabad, Gadwal, Rachakonda, Warangal, and Ramagundam have resulted in the seizure of large quantities of spurious seeds and illegally manufactured pesticides and insecticides. “No one will be spared if they attempt to sell fake seeds,” warned DGP Dr. Jitender.

Hyderabad: The Telangana Director General of Police, warned spurious seed and pesticide suppliers of initiating PD Act proceedings against them if found to be indulging in illegal and criminal activities.
He said that the State government is serious about checking the sale of spurious seeds and duplicate pesticides. In Vikarabad, Gadwal, Rachakonda, Warangal and Ramagundam, the police have conducted raids and huge quantity of spurious seeds, illegally manufactured pesticides, insecticides were seized. “None will be spared if they try to sell spurious seeds,” DGP Dr Jitender warned.
He requested the farmers to procure seeds from authorized dealers only and not from ‘fly-by-night’ operators or those resorting to malpractices. In case of any information relating to spurious seeds, fertilizers, pesticide, insecticides etc., citizens should approach the nearby police station. Telangana police have the highest respect for the farmers who are the ‘Anna Data’, he added.
