Telangana districts hammered by extreme rainfall, regions record up to 236 mm of rainfall
Central Telangana districts including Siddipet, Kamareddy, Medak and Yadadri Bhongir faced extreme rainfall, with Gouraram in Siddipet topping at 236 mm. Several mandals across the region reported rainfall above 150 mm.
Hyderabad: The districts of Central Telangana including Siddipet, Kamareddy, Medak and Yadadri Bhongir were literally hammered by an extreme rainfall event that witnessed rainfall up to a staggering 236 mm between Sunday night and early hours of Monday.
The maximum rainfall of 236 mm was recorded at Gouraram in Wargal mandal of Siddipet district followed by Mulugu mandal in Siddipet, which recorded 186.5 mm. The Islampur area of Tupran, on the outskirts of Hyderabad, was battered by a record rainfall of 179.5 mm, Pitlam mandal in Kamareddy district witnessed 175.5 mm of rainfall, Kowdipally in Medak district recorded 173.5 mm, Kangti in Sangareddy swa 169.8 mm of rainfall while Shankarampet in Medak district recorded 165.5 mm of rainfall.
Some of the other regions that recorded more than 150 mm of rainfall include Addagudur in Yadadri Bhongir (164.8mm), Hasanpalle (Nizamsagar) in Kamareddy (164.5 mm), Begupet in Rayapole mandal in Siddipet (163.3 mm), Damarancha in Medak district (160.8 mm), Masaipet in Medak district (148.8 mm).
