Siddipet: Former Dommat (now Dubbak)MLA D RamachandraReddy passed away at his home in Hyderabad on Sunday night due to age-related illness. He was 88.
Reddy won as MLA on a TDP ticket in 1985 when former Chief Minister K ChandrashekharRao also won the election from Siddipet for the first time. They used to move closely when Reddy, a native of Kondapak in Siddipet district, was active in politics. The former MLA also worked with the Indian Navy before contesting the elections.
Reddy was laid to rest in Kondapak in the presence of his followers, relatives and family members. Former Minister T HarishRao expressed shock over the demise of the former MLA. He paid floral tributes to Reddy at his home in Kondapak. The former minister comforted the family members of the former DommatMLA and recalled Reddy’s contribution to the development of the Dubbak area during his stint as MLA.
He said former chief minister K ChandrashekharRao had granted funds for RamachandraReddy’s treatment and also a house site for him in Siddipet when BRS was in power.
