Hyderabad: The School Education Department declared Thursday (August 14) as a closed holiday for all government and private schools in Medak, Sangareddy and Vikarabad districts.

The department on Wednesday took this decision as the India Meteorological Department issued a forecast of extremely heavy rainfall in isolated places in Medak, Sangareddy and Vikarabad.

The government has already declared a holiday for government and private schools in Hanamkonda, Jangaon, Mahabubabad, Warangal and Yadadri districts on August 14 due to the very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall alert. However, all schools in GHMC areas had been directed to operate in the morning shift, with a half-day holiday on Thursday.
