Hyderabad: The State government on Tuesday issued orders to create a new “HYDRAA Police Station”, for the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Protection Agency.

Headed by an ACP/DSP rank officer as the Station House Officer, the police station will be established at B block in Buddha Bhavan, Secunderabad.

The cases at the HYDRAA police station will be booked only on the special instructions of the Commissioner of HYDRAA. Cases will be filed against land grabbers, encroachers, public property damagers, defacement of public property, and other cases related to assets protection and other subjects related to HYDRAA actions.

The main function of HYDRAA is to protect assets, such as lakes, nalas, parks, and layout open spaces, playgrounds, government lands etc of Urban Development Authorities (UDA), Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) and Rural Local Bodies (RLBs). At ground level, the agency consists of teams monitoring the functioning of parks and lakes.
