Mancheria: Government Whip Balka Suman said that the government was committed to convert state-run schools on par with educational institutions operated by corporate agencies. He laid foundation stone to work on the compound wall, kitchen and drinking water facility at a school in Kyathanpalli municipality on Saturday. The estimated cost of the works is Rs 17 lakh.
Suman stated that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao conceptualized the innovative Mana Ooru-Mana Badi scheme, spending Rs 7,289 crore and benefitting 19.84 lakh students of government schools. The objective is to avoid financial burden on the financially weak students and to mold students as model citizens of the country, he explained.
The government whip further said that the infrastructure and basic amenities of the schools was being improved with the help of the scheme. He stated that the voluntary organisations, youth clubs and various associations could extend their support to better facilities and infrastructure of the schools. He requested the public to become partners of the initiative.
Suman, later, laid foundation stone works of the compound wall, repairs and kitchen shed of a school at Polampalli village in Bheemaram mandal and another school at Shetpalli village in Jaipur mandal. He consoled family members of an activist of TRS who was killed in a road accident at Ramakrishnapur town.
