Sangareddy: Despite strong opposition from within the party and from the Sangareddy and Patancheru MLAs, the State government will go ahead with the Integrated Sub-Registrar Offices proposal by bringing three to four sub-registrar offices located on either side of the Outer Ring Road (ORR) together.
Speaking after laying the foundation for construction of an Integrated Sub-Registrar Offices complex at Kardhanur in Patancheru constituency on Wednesday, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said 39 sub-registrar offices on either side of the ORR would be brought together into 11 integrated sub-registrar offices, with modern facilities to those visiting registration offices to sell or purchase lands.
Since the Sangareddy sub-registrar office was the closest one to Kardhanur after the newly created Patancheru sub-registrar office, the merger of both these offices along with two other nearby ones was expected.
Though Congress leader T Jagga Reddy, Sangareddy BRS MLA Chintha Prabhakar, Patancheru MLA Gudem Mahipal Reddy and other leaders opposed the move citing various reasons, the government has decided to go ahead with the proposal.
Since the construction of an integrated office, which was entrusted to construction company Rajpushpa, is expected to be completed within six months, the Congress government will soon make its proposal public.
Mahipal Reddy boycotted the meeting of the Minister, protesting the government’s decision to set up an integrated office rather than a separate Patancheru sub-registrar office. He also accused Sangareddy Collector P Pravinya of setting up the office without consulting the local MLA.
Speaking after laying the foundation, Minister Srinivas Reddy said Rajpushpa would provide all the facilities in the integrated offices. The offices would be friendly to physically challenged, new mothers, elderly and newly married couples, who are coming to marriage registration offices.
Minister G Vivekananda, TGIIC Chairperson T Nirmala, MLC C Anji Reddy and others were present.
