Hyderabad: Top officials of various departments, tasked with working out the number of vacancies in their respective jurisdictions, finalised the figures after taking into consideration various suggestions made by the State Cabinet during its previous meeting. The Cabinet emphasised the need to create new and modern jobs and simultaneously doing away with certain non-relevant posts as per the changes taking place in society and employment sector to deliver better services to the people.

The officials were also instructed to divide employees based on the new zonal system and new districts and to categorise vacant posts district-wise and zone-wise. They were also asked to undertake promotions and fill vacant posts before issuing job notifications. Other factors that were taken into consideration before finalising the vacant posts included voluntary retirements, resignations, deaths and newly created posts, apart from the increased superannuation age of 61 years.

The recruitments will be taken up as per the new zonal system. Consequently, the government has already initiated department-wise process to rationalise the employees based on their local category. Arrangements have been made to enable employees to give options in a prescribed format before August 31. The government is keen on fixing cadre strength for all the districts on a permanent basis.
