Telangana Group-III question papers end up as plates at bakery

Hyderabad: The Group-III examination question papers that tested the knowledge and ability of candidates to crack a government job have now ended up as paper plates at a bakery in Rajanna Siricilla district.

Some individuals who visited the bakery found that paper plates being used to serve snacks were made from the question papers belonging to the Group-III exam, which was conducted for recruitment to 1,363 vacancies in 2024. The hiring process concluded in 2025.

The photographs of the paper plates were posted on social media, which went viral on Wednesday. Photos also surfaced showing question papers reportedly being used as paper plates at a tea stall in Ashok Nagar, here, a hub for competitive examination coaching.

Question papers circulating on social media do not appear to be from a single candidate as the codes printed on them are different. One paper code ends with 30, while another concludes with 32.

As per the rules, question papers post the examinations have to be destroyed or shredded duly following due procedure. Given the issue, questions are now being raised over how bulk question papers are stored post-examinations and disposed of. Questions are also being raised on how question papers reached the bakery in Rajanna Siricilla district.

The issue comes at a time when a similar incident took place about a month ago when a large number of Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheets of the Hostel Welfare Officers recruitment examination were found near PVNR Express Highway at Shivarampally.
