Telangana HC refuses stay for accused in Minister’s murder plot case

Hyderabad: Justice K Lakshman of the Telangana High Court on Wednesday refused to grant relief to Bhandekar Vishwanath and Munnur Ravi in the case pertaining to alleged plot for killing Excise and Tourism Minister of Telangana, Srinivas Goud. The duo hailing from Mahabubnagar are arrayed as the prime accused in the case. They moved High Court through a lunch motion seeking a stay on grant of the police custody order.
The XXII Additional Metropolitan Judge, Cyberabad, Medchal district granted police custody of the accused to the SHO Petbasheerabad from March 3 to March 13 for taking up a detailed investigation. The judge refused to stay the police custody.
However he modified the order by directing the SHO, Petbasheerabad to interrogate the two accused from 10.30 AM to 5:30PM on the above dates. Further, after the interrogation, the judge directed the accused to be lodged in prison by 7.30 PM daily.
