Telangana High Court: Stay orders extended till Jan 31
The Bar Council received several representations from various bar associations throughout the State for making a representation for extension of the stay till next year.

Hyderabad: A full panel of the Telangana High Court, comprising Chief Justice Raghvendra Singh Chauhan, Justice MS Ramchandra Rao and Justice A Rajasheker Reddy, took suo moto cognisance of a letter written by the Chairman of Bar Council to extend stay in all the matters which were to be expired during the pandemic. Earlier, the full bench, due to the pandemic, passed orders time to time extending stay till December 11. The Bar Council received several representations from various bar associations throughout the State for making a representation for extension of the stay till next year. The panel extended the previous order till January 31.
Sale of properties
A two-judge panel, comprising Justice MS Ramachandra Rao and Justice Amarnath Goud, permitted the finalisation of sale of two properties at Punjagutta in the city. The properties were brought to sale by Andhra Bank. Earlier the panel directed the sale of the said properties under the provisions of the Debt Recovery Act. It, however, made the sale subject to confirmation of the court. The panel overruled objections by the petitioner in the PIL and said the monies will accrue to the credit of the litigation.
Plea against NITW expulsion order
Justice Challa Kodandaram directed the senate of the National Institute of Technology Warangal to consider the appeal filed by Paramesh Yadav against the order of expulsion from the college within 2 weeks and also take into consideration the orders passed by the court in similar circumstances. The court was dealing with the writ petition challenging the action of the senate in not passing orders on the appeal filed by the petitioner. Deepak Misra, the counsel appearing for the petitioner, submitted that an appeal was filed in February and no orders were being passed and the next semester is to commence soon.
Default case
The National Company Law Tribunal, consisting of Justice K Anantha Padmanabha Swamy and Justice Veera Brahma Rao, directed the comity of creditors authorities to take action upon a Rs 300 crore default in a legal feud with Meena Jewelers. The court observed that there were no proper submissions made on part of the resolution professional with regard to the default in payment, amount prescribed, stock, date of events occurred. The resolution professional informed the tribunal that upon the date of taking possession over the property, the showroom in Basheer Bagh, there was not a single gram of gold left in the showroom. It was also informed that a memo had to be filed and an efficient plan be formulated with respect to the proceeding with the winding up application of Meena Jewelers. The court further stated that the resolution professional is bound by the directions of the tribunal and emphasised on the fact that it is a fit case for serious fraud on investigation since there were no period of loan extensions or any structured plans.
