RAJANNA-SIRCILLA: Many localities in Sircilla town were submerged in the flood water following incessant rainfall during the last three days. Cars and two wheelers were seen being washed away in flood water.

Based on the instructions by Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao, district administration on Tuesday began a rescue and rehabilitation operation by establishing a control room.

District Collector Anurag Jayanthi, and Superintendent of Police Rahul Hegde visited flood affected areas and monitored rescue operations.

Municipal and Police personnel entered into houses, which were surrendered by flood water, with the help of proclaims and rescued people stranded in the houses. People staying in low lying areas have also been shifted to safe places.
