Hyderabad: The investigation into the gruesome murder of Swathi, a pregnant woman from Balaji Hills in Medipally limits, is ongoing. Police, along with Disaster Response Force (DRF) teams, intensified search operations along the Pratap Singaram stretch of the Musi River on Monday.
On Sunday, DRF teams scoured nearly 10 kilometers of the river but were unable to recover any body parts. Police suspect that strong water currents may have carried the remains further downstream. On Monday, boats were pressed into service to extend the search.
The case surfaced after Swathi’s husband, Mahender Reddy, confessed during interrogation that he had murdered his pregnant wife, dismembered her body, and disposed of the parts in the river. He reportedly admitted to throwing Swathi’s head, hands, and legs into the Musi River.
The chilling incident has shocked locals, with police maintaining tight surveillance as the search and investigation continue.
