Hyderabad: In sharp contrast to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s vow to wipe out the previous government’s imprints, IT Minister D Sridhar Babu said any incumbent government should continue the previous government’s policies.
The policies introduced by former Prime Minister late Manmohan Singh were being continued by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he cited as an example during an informal chit chat with media persons here on Tuesday.
These comments bear significance as former IPS officer RS Praveen Kumar lodged a complaint with Narsingi police against the Chief Minister stating that due to his vengeful approach, Telangana had lost an opportunity of becoming e-mobility capital of India.
The State cannot be permitted to change its stand on a crucial public policy merely because a new political party assumes power. The succeeding government is duty-bound to continue with the execution of the decision taken by the previous government, he said, adding that the State also lost an opportunity to generate revenue and jobs.
Meanwhile, the IT Minister further said the previous government’s IT policy would be upgraded as per the current trends and a new policy would be introduced. Admitting that there were land issues and the same would be addressed after the Regional Ring Road (RRR). Plans were afoot to expand IT and ITeS companies along the RRR. For each data centre, five to 10 acres of land was required, the Minister said.
“The Future City will be developed in five years and the Congress government does not require 10 years for the purpose,” Sridhar Babu said. Dismissing the reports of dissent among Ministers as mere speculations, he said they were all well aware of the State’s financial situation.
“There is no corruption or irregularities in the government. These are baseless charges being made by opposition parties. I strongly condemn,” Sridhar Babu said.
The Minister also clarified that the government does not have any plans to increase the employees’ retirement age to 65. There would be a major announcement on jobs on February 7, he added.
