Former Minister T Harish Rao being welcomed by women of Mylaram in Siddipet district on Sunday.
Siddipet: Former Minister T Harish Rao said the Irrigation Department could provide water to one lakh acres under Ranganayaka Sagar in Siddipet constituency alone this year.
Speaking after offering prayers at Peddamma Temple in Mylaram village of Chinnakodur on Sunday, Rao said this was an example of what the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS) did for the farmers in these parts of Telangana.
He recalled how the farmers used to struggle due to lack of water until Godavari water was brought here by former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.
Earlier, Harish unveiled the pamphlets of Kedarnath Seva Samithi, which offers free ‘annadanam’ to devotees on the Kedarnath pilgrimage, during a programme in Siddipet.
The former Minister appreciated the efforts of the Samithi for their service every year. They will start the service on May 2 this year.
Later, Harish participated in Panchanga Sravanam organised by Brahamana Parishad in Siddipet.
