Jagtial: A Fast Track Special Court here on Tuesday sentenced a 59-year-old man, Shivaratri Muttaiah, to 60 years of rigorous imprisonment on charges of raping three minor girls, with each crime getting 20 years each.

The sentences will run concurrently, which means he will have to be behind bars for 20 years. The court also directed him to pay a compensation of Rs 2 lakh each to the three girls.

After the horrific rape, the Gollapalli police registered the case against Sattaiah under the POCSO Act and produced him before court. While the then SI Naresh registered the case, DSPs Venkataswamy and Raghuchander investigated and produced evidence before the court.

Delivering the final judgment on Tuesday, the fast track special court sentenced 20 years of rigorous imprisonment as well as a fine of Rs 1000 in each case. Apart from this, the court also directed Muttaiah to pay Rs 2 lakh each as compensation to each of the victims.
