Hyderabad: The State government has expedited the works under the Manair River Front Development project being taken up with an expenditure of Rs 410 crore. Of the proposed 10-km stretch, development works have been approved for 4-km stretch in the first phase.

Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar along with Telangana State Planning Board vice-chairman B Vinod Kumar reviewed the progress of the works at Jala Soudha here on Tuesday.


Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said as part of the project, works will be taken up to develop numerous tourist attractions like boating, amusement parks, water sports, fountains, children park, auditorium, museum, kids play area, senior citizens park, flower gardens, rock gardens, laser show auditoriums, and sports enclave along with walking and jogging tracks. He stated that the project will be developed to attract not only local people, but also domestic tourists from other States.

Engineers-in-Chief C Muralidhar, Shankar, Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation (TSTDC) executive director Shankar Reddy, and other officials from irrigation, tourism, revenue and municipal departments, attended the meeting.
