Hyderabad: The Telangana Medical Council (TMC), which conducted a surprise inspection at HairSigns Clinic in Hitec City, raised concerns over the way the facility was being operated, including unqualified individuals imparting training in aesthetic procedures.

During the inspection, it was found that aesthetic medicine training programmes were being conducted at the premises under the name ‘School of Aesthetics’. The training sessions were allegedly being imparted by an unqualified individual possessing a dental qualification, and the participants included dentists and MBBS graduates being trained in aesthetic procedures.

The Medical Council made it clear that aesthetic procedures and related training must be conducted only by qualified and competent professionals in accordance with established medical standards and regulatory norms. Any unauthorised training programmes that compromise patient safety and professional ethics will be viewed seriously, the Council said.

The findings of Tuesday’s inspection, carried out by Dr Gundagani Srinivas, Member, TMC, and Dr Jalagam Vijay, who served as an eyewitness, will be placed before the General Body of the Medical Council for detailed deliberation and appropriate action, the Medical Council said in a statement.

The inspection report will be forwarded to the Dental Council of Telangana for necessary action regarding the involvement of a dental practitioner in conducting such training programmes. The Medical Council will also initiate steps to register an FIR against fake aesthetic institutions conducting unauthorised training programmes for unqualified persons.
