The Telangana State Medical Council has filed nearly 300 FIRs at various locations in Telangana against individuals with no MBBS degree but continue to practise out of clinics and other healthcare establishments.
Based on a complaint received from the members, a case was booked against Bandari Laxman of Chennur and Ranjith Kumar from Bheemaram for allegedly practicing quackery.
The inspections revealed that a total of 20 such centres were being operated without dermatologists, plastic surgeons and had no requisite permission from the District Registration Authority.
