Hyderabad: The Telangana Junior Doctors Association (TJUDA) and Telangana Senior Resident Doctors Association (TSRDA) continued their protests and boycott of medical duties in government teaching hospitals across Telangana on Thursday.
After talks held with Director of Medical Education (DME), Dr K Ramesh Reddy on Wednesday, the medicos decided to continue with their protests.
The medicos are demanding written assurances from the state government on their demands.
“We needed written assurances on several issues including ex-gratia to healthcare workers who died of Covid while discharging their duties and allocation of dedicated hospitals beds for healthcare staff and their families at NIMS. The health authorities have informed us that a GO related to 15 per cent hike in honorarium to Senior Residents will be released in a day or two. We would like to wait for the GO to be released before calling-off our protests,” members of TSRDA and TJUDA on Thursday morning said.
The medicos are conducting a series of protest meetings and rallies within the campus of government teaching hospitals since morning.
