Telangana: Mid Manair gates lifted to release water

Since the project is getting 6,300 cusecs inflows from Gayatri pump house, water resource development officials are releasing the similar quantity of water by five flood gates since Friday night.

Rajanna-Sircilla: Crest gates of Mid Manair reservoir were lifted to release water downstream. 6,300 cusecs of water is being let out into Lower Manair Dam by lifting five flood gates.

Since the project is getting 6,300 cusecs inflows from Gayatri pump house, water resource development officials are releasing the similar quantity of water by five flood gates since Friday night.


12.85 tmc (310.97 meter) water is available in the barrage as against its storage capacity of 27.5 tmc (318 meter). Project officials are planning to enhance outflow depending on inflow.

On the other hand, lifting of Kaleshwaram water from Parvathi pump house (Goliwada pump house) to Sripada Yellampalli reservoir has started.

Meanwhile, 9,450 cusecs water is being lifted to Nandimediaram reservoir from Yellampalli reservoir.

Three motors of Nandi pump house are being operated to lift water and dump in Nandi reservoir constructed as part of Kaleshwaram project link-II at Nandimedram of Dharmaram mandal. Each motor is lifting 3,150 cusecs of water.

Similar quantity of water is being shifted to Gayatri pump house constructed near Laxmipur of Ramadugu mandal from where water has taken to Mid Manair reservoir.

Water levels in Yellampalli project has reached to 9 tmc following continuous rainfall during the last few days in the catchment areas of the reservoir.

9.2 tmc water is available in the project as against its capacity of 20 tmc.
