Hyderabad: MIM MLC Syed Amin Jafri on Wednesday urged the State government to be cautious in the wake of increasing number of Covid-19 cases across the country.
Participating in a debate on the motion of thanks to the Governor’s address at the Telangana Legislative Council, he said the State government should be alert as more cases were being reported from Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra.
He also sought to raise key issues like implementation of PRC recommendation for State government employees, increase in retirement age, release of funds for Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi-Mubarak schemes and fee reimbursement scheme for students. For the last two years, funds for constituency development programme were not released, he said.
TRS MLC D Rajeshwara Rao, participating in the debate, appreciated Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and Health Minister Eatala Rajender for taking various steps to control the spread of the pandemic.
Since the outbreak of the virus in March 2020, the government had taken a series of preventive steps and succeeded in containing the spread of the virus. “We are confident that the government will leave no stone unturned in controlling the spread of the virus as positive cases are increasing in other States,” he said.
