Telangana: Newlywed woman electrocuted in Mancherial
Swapna, who got married five days ago, touches water heater coil, dies on way to hospital
Mancherial: The unpredictable and random power supply system resulted in the tragic death of a newlywed 21-year-old woman at Pochammawada in Nennal mandal centre, Mancherial, on Sunday.
She was electrocuted after she touched a water heater coil through which electricity was passing.
Nennal Sub-Inspector K Prasad said Jambi Swapna, the wife of Siddu, had placed the heater coil in a bucket of water, but the power supply went off.
Moments later, when she was taking the heater coil out of the bucket, the power supply abruptly resumed, resulting in her suffering an electric shock. She died while being shifted to hospital.
Hailing from Nennal mandal headquarters, Swapna got married to Siddu just five days ago.
Based on a complaint received from Swapna’s father Cheekataiah, a case was registered. The police are investigating.
