Telangana: Over 24,000 polytechnic seats filled
While 30,753 candidates exercised their web options, 24,156 (84.38%) of the 28,627 available seats were allotted on Saturday
Hyderabad: A total of 24,156 seats in various diploma courses offered by 120 polytechnic colleges across the State have been allotted in the web-based counselling through the Telangana State Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (TS POLYCET) 2021.
While 30,753 candidates exercised their web options, 24,156 (84.38%) of the 28,627 available seats were allotted on Saturday. Of 11,704 seats in 54 government polytechnics, 98.69 per cent have been allotted to students. Likewise, all seats in one aided polytechnic college have been allotted during the first phase of web-based counselling. In the case of 65 private polytechnic colleges, 74.13 per cent of seats have been awarded to students out of 16,696 seats.
According to the details given by the Department of Technical Education, 100 per cent of seats were allotted in 48 government and 13 private polytechnic colleges. Students who received seat allotment orders must self-report online and pay tuition fee through https://tspolycet.nic.in on or before August 20, failing which the allotment order automatically stands cancelled.
Candidates who were satisfied with their allotment and paid the tuition fee besides self-reported online need not exercise web options once again. All eligible candidates can participate in the next round of counselling, if any, for change of college or branch, if desired, said Navin Mittal, admissions convenor, TS POLYCET 2021.
Students who have been provisionally awarded seats must report at the allotted colleges on September 1 and the academic session commences on the same day. There will be orientation sessions from September 1 to 4 and classwork will begin from September 6.
