Suryapet: In a cinematic way, Task Force Police on Friday chased a car for 20 kilometers and seized 240 kilograms of ganja after arresting two persons.
Sources said, when a car took U turn at Korlaphad toll plaza in an apparent bid to escape from the police check point, the Task Force police chased the vehicle for over 20 kilometers.
The ganja smugglers give a skip to police by diverting their car to towards Solipeta through a link road to National Highway No. 65. Alerted by Task Force Police, the police of Suryapet Rural and Arvepally stations took up search on National Highway and Solipeta to Jangaon road.
The ganja smugglers hid the car in bushes on the backside of a government school at Solipet and ran towards the hill areas located near the village. But, they were spotted by Arvepally police, who were already taking up search operation on the route.
The police chased them for four kilometers and caught two peddlars and handed over them to Suryapet rural police. About 240 kilograms of ganja was seized from their car. They were reportedly smuggling the ganja from Vishakhpatnam to Hyderabad in their car. The police yet to make an statement on the arrest of the ganja smugglers.
