Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao castigated Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and his Cabinet for abandoning Telangana in the middle of a flood crisis, while camping in Bihar for political mileage. Demanding immediate relief measures, he urged the government to look at people’s plight and farmers’ needs, rather than votes and elections.
Rama Rao said Telangana was flooded due to heavy rains and people were fearing for their lives, but the Chief Minister and his Cabinet colleagues were busy campaigning for their party in Bihar elections. He said the Congress leaders were prostrating before the party high command to safeguard their posts and fill their pockets, while ignoring the people of Telangana.
He questioned the government’s priorities, pointing out that while helicopters were used for Ministers’ visits to events within 100 km from Hyderabad as though they were taxis for hire, they were not being deployed to rescue citizens stranded in floodwaters.
“People are suffering without relief, farmers are struggling for urea, unemployed youth are awaiting notifications, and employees are anxious over unfulfilled promises. The Congress failed to deliver its “six guarantees and 420 promises,” he said.
