Jagtial: Road connectivity between Jagtial, Dharmapuri and Mancherial was disrupted after floodwater overflowed onto the road near Nerella in Dharmapuri mandal.

Meanwhile, water bodies including tanks, rivulets and ponds are overflowing due to heavy rainfall.

In view of the rains, Collector Satya Prasad alerted officials and directed municipal commissioners, MPDOs and field staff to remain available in their respective areas around the clock.

Earlier in the morning, the Collector inspected low-level bridges at Anantharam in Jagtial mandal, Rayapatnam bridge, the Godavari catchment in Dharmapuri, Nerella low-level bridge and Rechapalli in Sarangapur mandal.

He instructed electricity, revenue, police, R&B, Panchayat Raj and irrigation departments to work in coordination. Advising officials not to leave their headquarters, the Collector ordered the evacuation of schools and hostels functioning in dilapidated buildings. He also instructed that people residing in old houses be shifted to safer locations.

He said a control room would function round the clock, and urged people to contact officials for assistance on the toll-free number 966623438.

Separately, police officials visited low-level culverts where water was overflowing and implemented precautionary measures.
