Telangana registers 3,877 new Covid infections, 2 fatalities on Friday

Hyderabad: Telangana on Friday has registered 3,877 Covid-19 infections out of which 1,189 positive cases were from areas under GHMC. The health authorities also have reported two Covid-19 fatalities on Friday, taking the overall number of deaths in TS to 4,083.

The active Covid-19 positive infections in Telangana, as on Friday have surged to 40,414 with nearly 36,500 active cases in areas within GHMC.


Apart from Hyderabad, Omicron driven Covid infections are registering significant increase in other urban centres of Telangana with authorities reporting 348 cases from Medchal-Malkajgiri, 241 cases in Rangareddy district, 140 from Hanumakonda, 133 from Nalgonda, 116 from Bhadradri Kothagudem, 112 from Khammam, 110 from Peddapalli, 107 from Nizamabad, 104 from Mancherial and 95 from Mahabubnagar.

The health department conducted 1,01,812 Covid tests on Friday out of which results of 4,006 samples were awaited. On Friday, 2,981 individuals had recovered with a recovery rate of 94.11 per cent.

So far, a total of 3,18,77,830 Covid-19 tests have been conducted in the State out of which 7,54,976 have tested positive and 7,10,479 persons have recovered.
